"Happy Gilmore" Sequel Begins Filming in New Jersey

Adam Sandler: Love You | Netflix NY Special Screening

The much-anticipated sequel to the 1996 cult classic "Happy Gilmore" has begun filming in New Jersey. The film's star, Adam Sandler, recently announced the news, and according to a memo from the Fiddler's Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, most of the movie's scenes will be shot at the club. The crew is expected to begin shooting in early October, as reported by Golf.com.

The film, which is being produced by Netflix, will feature all three of the club's regulation 18-hole courses (River, Meadow, and Forest). The Meadow course's front nine will experience the most extensive alterations and filming. The club's trustees have assured members that despite the temporary disruption, the filming will provide a lifetime of memories and pride.

In addition to Sandler, the film will feature a cameo by Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce. Sandler confirmed Kelce's appearance in a recent interview on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," as reported by ABC7NY. Sandler also teased that "so many golfers" will make an appearance in the film.

The sequel to "Happy Gilmore" is set to be released in 2025, coinciding with Fiddler's 60th anniversary. The club is planning a year's worth of events to commemorate this milestone, including a special, complimentary party showing the premiere of the movie next summer.
