A 29-year-old Philadelphia man, Andrew Ibechem, was arrested in Atlantic City after allegedly pointing a gun at a hotel security guard. The incident occurred late Sunday night at the Atlantic Palace on the 1500 block of the Boardwalk. According to Access Network news report, Ibechem got into an altercation with the guard, brandished a handgun, and then fled the scene.
Officer Danny Feliciano reviewed surveillance footage of the incident and identified Ibechem as the suspect. Police learned that Ibechem was staying at another hotel in Atlantic City. Officer John Bell located Ibechem and took him into custody. A court-authorized search warrant was executed at Ibechem's room and vehicle, leading to the recovery of two handguns, ammunition, and two knives.
Ibechem is facing multiple charges, including four counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault, and certain person not to possess a weapon. He is currently being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
