As summer approaches, officials in the Wildwoods have announced new safety measures to ensure a safe environment for residents and visitors. Starting Memorial Day weekend, a 10 p.m. curfew will be in place for anyone 18 and younger on the Boardwalk. Backpacks will also be banned from the area, continuing a policy from previous years.

The city has installed protective bollards at all Boardwalk entrances and new surveillance cameras for real-time monitoring. According to NBC Philadelphia, these measures aim to prevent incidents like those seen last Memorial Day weekend, which led to a temporary state of emergency.

Officials will also monitor social media to detect potential pop-up parties before they occur. Rental property regulations have been updated to limit occupancy and discourage large, unsanctioned gatherings. Louis M. Belasco, Executive Director of the Greater Wildwoods Tourism and Improvement Development Authority, emphasized the importance of maintaining a family-friendly atmosphere. "We want everyone to feel welcome and enjoy the Memorial Day festivities here in The Wildwoods," he said, as reported by 6ABC.

These proactive steps reflect the Wildwoods' commitment to public safety and their reputation as a safe vacation destination. For more information on upcoming events, visitors can check the Wildwoods' official website.
