The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado touched down in Atlantic County, New Jersey, on Friday (May 16). The EF-0 tornado, with winds reaching 65 to 75 mph, briefly touched down in Collings Lake, causing minor damage. According to WPVI, the tornado was on the ground for about one minute, damaging areas along Malaga Road and causing large branches to fall and metal roofing to peel off nearby buildings.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. However, in Buena Vista Township, a tree crashed onto a house's roof. The homeowner was not present at the time, as she was sheltering with students at a local middle school. Al Baker, a resident of Buena Vista Township, described the tree falling as sounding "like a bomb going off."

The same storm system also caused significant flooding in parts of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. According to NJ Advance Media, meteorologists initially investigated whether the damage was caused by a tornado or strong thunderstorm winds. Despite the damage, no serious injuries were reported in New Jersey.
