Toosii Commits To This College Football Team After Pausing Rap Career

Toosii is set to begin his college football career at Syracuse University after he put his rap career on hold.

On Monday, December 1, the "Favorite Song" rapper, born Nau'Jour Lazier Grainger, announced that he committed to the Syracuse Orange football team. In an Instagram post, Toosii shared a photo of himself in his new uniform and revealed the full-circle moment that brought him back to his hometown.

"COMMITTED 🙏🏽 For every kid who ever had a dream, make it reality," Toosii wrote. "God’s will is the way and no one can stop it not even the devil."

"I wanna thank my lord and savior Jesus Christ for even giving me the strength to chase what I believed when so many people told me I couldn’t," he continued. "Thank you to the people who supported me as well, it never go unnoticed. To be born in Syracuse and move to North Carolina at age 12 and haven’t been back since. When Coach Fran called, I knew it was a sign from God. So with that being said, Cuse I’m coming home."

Toosii previously announced his plans to take a break from hip-hop to focus on his college football career. Since the fall semester began in August, the Jaded rapper has visited several schools, including Maryland, USC, and Duke. Before he committed to Syracuse, Toosii said he got an offer from Sacramento State.

Toosii will start training for the 2026 season soon. Before he set his sights on Syracuse, the 25-year-old artist dropped songs like "777," "Call Me" and "Please Don't Go" with YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
