Pooh Shiesty has not been arrested, despite claims from multiple social media blogs.
The rumor surrounding the Memphis native's alleged arrest blew up on social media timelines everywhere on Monday, January 12, after blogs misunderstood a moment from streamer BenDaDonnn's livestream. During a phone call, a man claimed police raided someone's home, which prompted people to believe he was referring to Pooh Shiesty. Multiple Internet personalities, including Akademiks, ran with the rumor and shared screenshots of the rapper's status on the Federal Bureau of Prisons' website. However, Pooh Shiesty and his label clarified that he wasn't arrested at all.
"Can't tell the Internet dumb ass nothing," Shiesty wrote under a post about the situation.
Pooh Shiesty, born Lontrell Denell Williams, was released from prison in October after serving over three years for a gun charge. As part of his release, the "Back In Blood" rapper was ordered to live in a halfway house in Texas until April 2026. The Federal Bureau of Prisons lists Dallas RRM (which stands for "Residential Reentry Management") as Pooh Shiesty's current location. He will remain in their database until he's formally released on April 11.
Since being released from prison, the 26-year-old artist has been working on new music. He made waves with his new single "FDO" and recently linked up with GloRilla for his first major collaboration of the year. He's also preparing to drop his first album in five years. As of this report, he has not confirmed a release date.
