Bun B and his family are celebrating after his wife beat breast cancer.
On Tuesday, February 17, the UGK rapper shared a video of his wife Angela "Queenie" Wells ringing the cancer cell after her doctor confirmed she was cancer-free. He explained that Queenie was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer following her annual check-up last June. She started her chemotherapy treatment the following month and finished in December. Bun praised Queenie for fighting the deadly disease without any self-doubt or complaining.
"She’s been my best friend, wife, partner, lover, business partner and more," Bun B wrote. "But today, she’s my hero."
"She fought like a champ for our family and for herself," he continued. "No self doubt or pity. She stood tall on faith and fought through pain, poison, exhaustion, neuropathy and more daily and attended all family events even when she was in serious pain & discomfort but she still didn’t complain. She had her surgery the first week of January and today we are proud to say she’s cancer free!"
Other artists like Chance The Rapper, Twista, Monaleo, Westside Gunn, Big Boi and more jumped into the comments and offered their well wishes. Bun B personally extended his gratitude to Queenie's doctors for their comforting bedside manner and dedication to his wife. He also thanked his family and friends for all their support and prayers during their rough time. Most importantly, Bun urged everyone to get checked out annually.
"I implore everyone to please get your health checked yearly and consistently because in cases of cancer and other illnesses early detection can be the difference between life and death," he wrote. "Now let’s give it up one time for a cancer free Queenie!"
Bun B and Queenie have been married since 2003. Bun has been a stepfather to Queenie's two children ever since. The couple celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows in 2023.
