Benzino was sent to the hospital after he confronted the mother of his son for allegedly kidnapping the child outside of his home.
The veteran rapper told his side of the story to TMZ on Thursday, February 26. Benzino said his ex, Althea Eaton, showed up at his house on Wednesday with her friend Diamond of Crime Mob. He claimed Eaton snatched their young son, Zino, after he got off the school bus, put him in her car, and drove away. He was allegedly side-swiped by the vehicle and fell to the ground. Police officers, who were present at the time of the incident, called an ambulance and sent him to the hospital.
Benzino said he hit his arm and head on the car. He also has a lot of pain in his back. In photos that were posted to social media, you can see the "Rock The Party" rapper in a neck brace while lying on a stretcher. Althea and Diamond were pulled over by police soon after they drove off. Cops were able to retrieve young Zino and returned him to his father.
Despite the allegations Benzino made, his ex and the Crime Mob rapper are telling a different story. In a video she posted on Instagram, Diamond claimed they brought the police to the bus stop to conduct a wellness check on Eaton's son.
"This is a father who is keeping a child from his mother," Eaton told TMZ. "He’s trying to make a mockery of this situation, but this is my livelihood. I haven't seen my son in months, so I wanted to do a wellness check to lay eyes on my child."
